Reiki (pronounced 'ray-key') is a Japanese word - 'rei'
means universal and 'ki' means life force or energy. This ancient healing art
was re-discovered in the 19th century by a Japanese priest named Dr Mikao Usui.
This system of natural healing was subsequently passed on by ensuing reiki
masters and is practised worldwide today.
Reiki is based upon the flow of 'ki' or
energy around the body. Otherwise known as 'chi' or 'qi' in Chinese and 'prana'
in Hindu, ki is the energy of life itself. Reiki clears away blockages in the
flow of ki which lead to illness and stress.
A holistic form of healing, reiki treats the physical body and the mind
together, strengthening the body's own healing ability
and rebalancing its energy. Reiki may be used for self-healing or to promote
healing in others. It can also be used safely with other complementary
therapies and there is no risk when using it alongside orthodox treatment.
Touch is a wonderful thing that can be both comforting and soothing but it can
also be used to heal illnesses and bring balance and a sense of well-being into
your life. Reiki is a deeply relaxing, health promoting system of hands-on
energy healing. Reiki was virtually unheard of only a few short years ago but
it is fast becoming one of the most recognised and popular forms of
complementary therapy today.

Science behind Reiki.
[ReflexologyThis
ancient healing art which dates back to Egyptian times is becoming increasingly
popular, as many people are now seeking a more holistic approach to health.
Reflexology is a therapy which involves the stimulation of certain points on
the feet, known as reflex points. The theory is that the feet are a mini-map of
the entire body and that by applying pressure to specific areas on the feet,
balance and harmony are restored to the various body systems.
Reflexology works to improve
circulation, aid in the elimination of toxins from the system, relieve stress
and tension, and help restore the body to its normal state – known as
homeostasis.
If

Champissage as it is known in
The treatment may last anything from 15 to 45 minutes
and works on the upper body, back, shoulders, neck and head where a great deal
of the physical and psychological tensions that accumulate in our everyday
lives are stored. It is a wonderful and extremely beneficial therapy for
de-stressing the whole body. The treatment is so relaxing that it is not
unusual for the recipient to fall asleep during the massage! However, the
massage helps to improve concentration and energy levels, and often people will
report feeling energised after having had an Indian Head Massage.
It disperses toxins from tense and knotted muscles,
improves blood-circulation in congested muscles, and helps oxygenate the brain.
It also helps with eye-strain, tinnitus, jaw pain,
sinusitis and aids restful sleep. The massage stimulates lymphatic drainage,
boosts the immune system, and encourages the body to ward off disease. It is
tremendously useful in dealing with a variety of stress-related disorders.
Indian Head Massage induces a state of calm, peace and tranquillity and
promotes high levels of alertness and concentration. Relaxing, yet
invigorating, Indian Head Massage creates a wonderful feeling of well-being.
[Bach Flower
Remedies
The
38 Bach Flower Remedies, created by a Harley Street Doctor, Edward Bach in the
1930’s, make up a complete and unique system of medicine. Dr Bach’s belief that "A Healthy Mind Ensures A
Healthy Body” was ahead of its
time. Today medical experts are proving beyond doubt, how our thoughts have a
direct effect upon the cells of our bodies. The Bach Flower Remedies are being
described as “The Medicine Of The Future”.
The Bach Flower Remedies comprise 38 homeopathically prepared plant and flower
based remedies, each one specifically devised to treat a different emotion. The
Bach Flower Remedies work by stimulating the body’s own capacity to heal
itself, by balancing negative emotions.

remedy.
Introductory talks, presentations and demonstrations
may be arranged on request and provide a useful opening to discuss ways in
which complementary therapies may be put to good use in the workplace. They also allow an opportunity for taster
sessions or mini-treatments to take place in a relaxed atmosphere so that
employers and employees can more easily decide how they feel about the various
treatments and how they could be integrated into the work environment with
maximum ease and benefit.
[Stress Busting Workshops
These workshops explore what we mean by the term
