Clicker Training This effective, creative and
fun method of training is suitable for use with a variety of behavioural and
training issues. It often helps where
other methods have failed. However, there
is an art to successful clicker training and so a basic knowledge of the
system is a good idea before you start clicking! |

thing I have most to thank you for, is learning that I don’t have to be hard or
overbearing with Barney … read more here

WHAT IS CLICKER TRAINING? This
is a method of training that uses a little device called a clicker which has
a very distinctive sound. Before beginning
training, the clicker is paired with a reward so that a strong positive
association is built. Then, whenever
the dog hears the click, he knows that a reward will follow. Choose
the behaviour you like and mark it with a click and reward, follow a few
simple steps to teach your dog to deliver the behaviour on cue! |

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF CLICKER TRAINING?
WHY
NOT SEE FOR YOURSELF? The training days are held in small groups of 4
people. The day will open your mind
and give you an opportunity to learn what makes your dog tick. You may discover that you have been
inadvertently teaching behaviours you don’t want! Believe me, you won’t be the only one! Then you can learn how to help your dog
behave in a way that pleases you. You
will learn the basics of clicker training and a receive
a booklet and a FREE CLICKER that will help get you started! DO
I BRING MY DOG? Well actually NO! Some may find that strange, others will be
relieved! Some people who attend
courses like these are experiencing such problems with their dogs, that taking the dog anywhere can be a source of
embarrassment! Much as I would love to
meet your dogs, I find that people are much more receptive to learning
without doggy distractions. Successful clicker training is taken in a number
of small steps and training sessions are kept short in order to be most
effective. Dogs need to learn without distraction initially and so a whole
day spent with other “new” doggy friends to sniff and explore would make
learning challenging if not impossible!
You also need to be able to focus on learning ways to
use the clicker most effectively and so, all things considered,
being dog-free is by far the best option. HOW
WILL I SEE CLICKER TRAINING IN ACTION IF I DON’T BRING MY DOG There will be demonstrations working with a “live”
dog as well as some video footage! These days are a fun way to set you on a pathway
to a happier relationship with your dog! Call now on 01443
671834 for further information or to
reserve your place. |
